Ja’Myiah Clark

Hello, my name is Ja’Myiah Clark. I was born and raised in Lumberton, Nc. There I attended Robeson Early College High School. Being an early college student was very rewarding, though it came with a multitude of sacrifices. At my high school I participated in various extracurricular activities. I was a varsity cheerleader for 3 years. I participated in Beta club, science club, and prom committee. I also won homecoming queen my senior year. Over the span of my high school career I worked three different jobs. I also participated in an internship over the summer at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This is ultimately when I decided that I wanted to work in environmental science. Once one of my college instructors discovered that, she informed me about the MES program.

After going through the application process and being interviewed, I was notified that I had been selected. I was very excited to intern again. Being a recent high school graduate with an Associate degree, I did feel unprepared for this particular internship, but Pre-College University helped subside my anxiety and made sure that I was prepared. Currently I attend the Illustrious North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University majoring in Agricultural and Environmental systems with a concentration in Environmental studies. The MES program has allowed me to make life long connections while doing my passion. I believe the I have exceeded the expectations that were presented to me during this program. Pre-College University prepared me for the internship, college, and life very well. I am very grateful!
