The purpose of this course is to provide an overview of the history of Environmental Justice, background information on various environmental justice issues and community engagement, and providing skills to teach others how social media is a way to address environmental injustices in their community.

Foundation of Becoming an Environmental Justice Advocate
Objective: Participants will be able to understand the environmental justice issues discussed by reading articles and viewing informational videos.

Identifying Problems in Your Community
Objective: Participants will be able to identify the environmental justice issues that affect their communities and others by reviewing case studies. Participants will also learn the first steps to address and solve the issues.

Activism/Social Media/Advocacy/Media
Objective: Participants will be able to use their social media platforms to bring awareness to the environmental justice issue in their community as a form of activism.

Capstone Project
Objective: Participants will be able to use their social media platforms to bring awareness to the environmental justice issue in their community as a form of activism.

Students Will Be Able to use the resources and knowledge they have acquired during the training course to survey their community and collect data to solve the environmental justice issue that affects their community.
